Our Volunteers
At Service Link, our volunteers are the heart of our mission, bringing diverse expertise and a shared commitment to improving health outcomes. With volunteers from a wide range of academic backgrounds—ranging from nutrition, biology, and neuroscience to healthcare management, bioengineering, and philosophy, politics, and economics—we are able to connect patients to critical community resources that address the social determinants of health. Each volunteer contributes their unique perspective and skills, helping to create a more holistic, supportive environment for those in need.
Our Sites
UCHC
University City Hospitality Coalition
Partnering with UCHC, we volunteer at the Philadelphia Episcopal Church while people receive free meals from UCHC. We also work with the other clinics at the site, such as the medical, dental, and legal clinics, by helping them address resource needs.
CHOP HHI
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Homeless Health Initiative
This program, run by CHOP, primarily serves children in under-resourced neighborhoods across Philadelphia. In addition to providing comprehensive social and medical services, the program is committed to addressing disparities throughout the city, offering a wide range of resources to support both the social and healthcare needs of these communities.
UCC
United Community Clinic
This free clinic is staffed by a diverse team of Penn medical students, nurses, and social workers, dedicated to serving the West Philadelphia community. This site provide essential medical, social, and community navigation resources to support the health and well-being of local residents.
Virtual Sites
PFC
Penn Family Care
We collaborate with social workers from Penn Partners In Care (PPIC) to provide virtual support for patients, connecting them with resources such as food assistance, utilities, insurance, and more.
